Brazil – largest country in both South America and Latin America. With a geographical area of 8.5 million km2, Brazil is also the largest country in the Southern Hemisphere and the world's fifth-largest country. With over 206 million people, Brazil is the seventh-most-populous country in the world.[1][2] It is the largest Lusophone country in the world, and the only one in the Americas.[2]
